The latest issue of Harmonise contains details of the 2008 Harmony Club Calendar, a preview of which is shown here, and it is priced at £10 (inclusive) in the U.K., £15 within Europe and £20 rest of the World (air mail delivery). Members can place orders immediately, and anyone wishing to order online can do so by using the e-mail address below. A Paypal money request will be sent to you for payment and the Calendar will be despatched as soon as it arrives from the printers! Subject to any further Royal Mail strike action, we're pretty sure it will arrive in time for Santa's Christmas stocking if ordered by mid-December!

Payment can also be made by post, and we accept in U.K. Sterling currency (cheques, U.K. Postal Orders or cash only). E-mailed orders can be sent to enquiries@harmonyclub.co.uk.

We are very grateful to Member M1055 for sending this lovely picture, classically and provocatively posed. What could be better than the sheerest of black shiny fully-fashioned stockings, complete with kormograph on the welt, signifying the manufacturer's nam,e?

Warm congratulations to Miss Kylie Minogue on her appointment as an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of thre British Empire in The Queen's New Year's Honours List! Not quite the Order of the Garter, but a deserved honour for someone who has entertained in various ways for two decades.

In fact, Miss Minogue teamed up with that other great British institution on Christmas Day, Doctor Who, and was seen wearing seams throughout the programme!

One further item of stocking-interest not to be missed is the new St. Trinian film, on general release from 21st December 2007 in the U.K. Whether it is the feast of fully-fashioned stockinged legs of its illustrious forbears remains to be seen. The publicity shots would appear to be interesting....

Unlikely to have been a bestseller even in 1953 when it was written, "STOCKINGS" by A.W. Elvey (who amongst a whole host similar honours regaled in the title of Past Chairman of the Women's Fully-Fashioned & Seamless Hose Committee of the Leicester & County Chamber of Commerce (Inc.) (Hosiery Section)) has been obtained by the Club. It is a feast of detail of every aspect of manufacture and sale of fully-fashioned stockings and profusely illustrated. For example, it details (with drawings) 24 different types of heel foot reinforcements then current!  It is hoped to include illustrated extracts from this 220+ page book as and when time allows.
